We are sad to announce that our dear friend and colleague Christine Porter passed away on 10th April 2026
Chris was an active member of the Maths Recovery community for the past 22 years. She recently retired from the Maths Recovery Council as a Trustee and Treasurer. Chris wasn’t just someone we worked with—she was part of the fabric of the Maths Recovery Council. She brought integrity, reliability, and humour to our organisation. She genuinely cared about children, her family, her friends, and her colleagues.
Chris organised and delivered courses for teachers both nationally and internationally. She presented at conferences in the UK, Ireland, and the USA. Chris travelled with colleagues to Australia to work with Bob Wright and co-authors on the purple book ‘Teaching Number in the Classroom’.
We miss her not just as a colleague, but as a friend.
