Teaching Number in the Classroom for 4- to 8-year-olds

Thursday February 3, 2022

Courses Venue: TBA

The two-day training course for classroom teachers gives guidance and support using Maths Recovery strategies and resources in the classroom for group and whole class teaching. This training is focussed around the text ‘Teaching Number in the Classroom for 4- to 8-year-olds’ 2nd edition.

The course is an intensive but enjoyable professional development experience and by the end of the course delegates will be familiar with an inquiry – based approach to classroom teaching that builds on a clear understanding of the childrens’ current levels of knowledge, where their learning should progress to and the means by which children learn early numeracy topics.

Key domains include number words and numerals, structure to 20, counting, place value and multiplication and division. The cost for the two day training is £275 per person.

Training can be booked by groups of schools or local authorities to share costs and to make up the minimum number of trainees of 15, maximum 20 people for your organisation.
